Dr. Marieme Mbaye is a board-certified gynecologist with over 10 years of experience, dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care through every stage of life.
She has a special interest in contraception, abnormal bleeding, perimenopause and menopause, sexual and reproductive health, preventive care, and minimally invasive office procedures. Dr. Mbaye also provides routine gynecologic and preventive care for transgender men, with an emphasis on creating a welcoming, respectful, and affirming healthcare experience.
Dr. Mbaye believes the best healthcare starts with listening. She takes the time to ensure every patient feels informed, respected, and empowered to make confident decisions about their health. With a reputation for excellent communication and a welcoming bedside manner, she has earned the trust of patients across all five boroughs and beyond, reflected in over 1,000 five-star reviews.
Dr. Mbaye earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.
In her free time, Dr. Mbaye loves to explore all the offerings of NYC and the surrounding areas with her family and friends. She is an avid reader (ask anytime about her current books!) and pétanque player, and has never met a DIY project she didn't think she could at least attempt. She tries to stay active by citi-biking, weight lifting, playing volleyball, rock climbing, and finding other activities to do year-round.

Regular gynecologic care is an important part of maintaining your overall health. Annual visits provide an opportunity to discuss changes in your health, menstrual cycle, sexual health, contraception, menopause and other concerns.
Services include annual well-woman exams, preventive screenings, breast health discussions and individualized health counseling.

We provide routine Pap smears and cervical cancer screening based on your age, medical history and current screening guidelines, including appropriate follow-up for abnormal results.

Choosing birth control is personal. We’ll help you understand your options and select an approach that works for your health, lifestyle and future plans.

Changes in your period can happen for many reasons. We evaluate concerns including heavy or painful periods, irregular cycles, bleeding between periods and other changes in menstrual health.
